Katy Perry, "Harleys In Hawaii" Music Video

As we were producing a series of animated music videos for Katy Perry's newest album dropping in 2020, one of the most ambitious and exciting of them was "Harleys In Hawaii", directed by Hoku & Adam at Partizan.  It was of paramount importance to the directing duo that the video retained the authentic style of 1930's rubber-hose cartoons.  To complete the project with the budget and time available to us, we setup for success by teaming up with animation studio Vascolo, based in Buenos Aires.  The creative team there knew the challenge we had ahead of us and met it with confidence and dedication.  This was a truly collaborative effort, doing everything we could to bridge our geological distance by recording video critiques for the team to review and updating the design "bible" regularly so that the animation team always had all the information needed to move forward in line with the directors vision.  The end result is a 3-minute traditionally animated music video that we're all quite proud of.
